Configuring the Device to Import or Release a Digital Certificate of the Remote Device

Context

When digital envelop authentication is used and the device serves as the sender, configure the public key of the receiver on the device. When digital envelop authentication is used and the device serves as the sender, configure the public key of the receiver on the device. You can obtain the public key by importing the digital certificate of the remote device. This method associates user identity information with the public key, is highly secure, and applies to large-scale networks.

If the specified digital certificate of the remote device is not required, configure the device to release the digital certificate of the remote device.

Procedure

  1. Run:

    system-view

    The system view is displayed.

  2. Run the following commands as required.

    • Run:

      pki import-certificate peer peer-name { der | pem | pkcs12 } file

      The device is configured to import a digital certificate of the remote device in file mode.

      NOTE:

      After this command is executed, enter the certificate file name. The certificate file is in drive:/key-name format. drive is the storage media supported by the device and key-name is the name of the certificate file that has been uploaded to the storage media.

    • Run:

      pki import-certificate peer peer-name pem terminal

      The device is configured to import a digital certificate of the remote device in terminal mode.

  3. (Optional) Run:

    pki release-certificate peer { name peer-name | all }

    The digital certificate of the remote device is released.
