Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

In automatic mode, when the device cannot provide sufficient power, it first powers on the PDs connected to high-priority ports and powers off the PDs connected to low-priority ports. When the device provides sufficient power, it powers on all the connected PDs. To power off the PDs connected to some ports, you need to run the undo poe enable command to disable the PoE function on these ports. Frequently enabling and disabling the PoE function on ports will cause the ports to become faulty. To solve this problem, you can set the power supply management mode to manual. In manual power supply management mode, ports are powered on or off manually, regardless of their power supply priorities.

Precautions

  • In automatic power supply management mode, the device first powers on the port with the lowest port number if all ports have the same power supply priority.

  • You can run the display poe information command to check the power supply management mode.

Example

# Set the power supply management mode of the device to manual.
