NOTE:

AR530 series (except AR531GPe-U-H) do not support VLAN Mapping.

vlan mapping 8021p

Function

The vlan mapping 8021p command configures 802.1p priority-based VLAN mapping on a sub-interface.

The undo vlan mapping 8021p command cancels 802.1p priority-based VLAN mapping on a sub-interface.

By default, 802.1p priority-based VLAN mapping is not configured on a sub-interface.

NOTE:

The AR503GW-LM7, AR503GW-LcM7, AR509G-L-D-H, AR509GW-L-D-H, and AR510 series support this command.

The value is an integer that ranges from 0 to 7.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

If some packets sent from one LAN to another need to be first forwarded, their 802.1p priorities in the packets need to be changed. You can run the vlan mapping 8021p command on the LAN edge device to enable 802.1p priority-based VLAN mapping. 802.1p priority-based VLAN mapping maps 8021p-value1 to 8021p-value2 in the inbound direction and then forwards packets based on mapped 802.1p priorities. In the outbound direction, packets are not processed.

Pre-configuration Tasks

The sub-interface has been added to a bridge group and the VLANs allowed by the sub-interface has been configured using the vlan allow-pass command.

Precautions

You can configure only dot1q tunnel function, vlan stacking, or vlan mapping on a sub-interface.

# Configure VLAN mapping on the sub-interface GE0/0/0.1 to map the 802.1p priority of data frames of VLAN 10 from 1 to 6.

vlan mapping vid(Sub-interface)

Function

The vlan mapping vid command configures VLAN ID-based VLAN mapping on a sub-interface.

The undo vlan mapping vid command cancels VLAN ID-based VLAN mapping on a sub-interface.

By default, VLAN ID-based VLAN mapping is not configured on a sub-interface.

NOTE:

The AR503GW-LM7, AR503GW-LcM7, AR509G-L-D-H, AR509GW-L-D-H, and AR510 series support this command.

Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

When packets are sent from one LAN to another, their VLAN IDs need to be changed in the following scenarios:
  • The VLAN IDs deployed in new sites and old sites conflict, but new sites need to communicate with old sites.

  • The sites connecting to the public network have conflicting VLAN IDs because of improper planning. These sites do not need to communicate.

  • The VLAN IDs on both ends of the private network are different.

You can run the vlan mapping vid command on the LAN edge device to configure VLAN ID-based VLAN mapping. On the sub-interface, VLAN ID-based VLAN mapping maps vlan-id1 to vlan-id2 in the inbound direction and vlan-id2 to vlan-id1 in the outbound direction , and then forwards packets.

Pre-configuration Tasks

The sub-interface has been added to a bridge group and the VLANs allowed by the sub-interface has been configured using the vlan allow-pass command.

The VLANs allowed by the sub-interface include VLANs specified by vlan-id1 in vlan mapping vid vlan-id1 map-vlan vlan-id2.

Precautions

When the vlan mapping vid command is executed multiple times, vlan-id2 in the vlan mapping vid command on a sub-interface must be different from vlan-id1 and vlan-id2 in the vlan mapping vid command on other sub-interfaces of the same main interface.

You can configure only dot1q tunnel function, vlan stacking, or vlan mapping on a sub-interface.
