Usage Guidelines

Usage Scenario

If the local device functions as the initiator, run the remote-name command. Because both ends may be the initiator, run the remote-name command at both ends. The remote-name command is optional only when the IKE peer functions as the responder and uses an IPSec policy template to establish an IPSec policy.

Precautions

In IKEv1, when local-id-type name is used, the local and remote names are used for IKE negotiation.

In IKEv2, when peer-id-type name is used, the remote name is used for IKE negotiation.

Example

# Set the name of the remote peer to vrp30 in the IKE peer view.

<Huawei> system-view
[Huawei] ike peer huawei v1
[Huawei-ike-peer-huawei] remote-name vrp30

# Set the remote peer name to VRP31 in the Efficient VPN policy view.

<Huawei> system-view
[Huawei] ipsec efficient-vpn name mode client
[Huawei--ipsec-efficient-vpn-name] remote-name VRP31
