Function

The authentication-algorithm command specifies the authentication algorithm used by an IKE proposal.

The undo authentication-algorithm command restores the default authentication algorithm used by an IKE proposal.

By default, an IKE proposal uses the SHA-256 authentication algorithm.

Specifies 128-bit AES-XCBC-MAC-96 as the authentication method used by an IKE proposal. Only IKEv2 supports AES-XCBC-MAC-96.

Specifies 160-bit SHA-1 as the authentication method used by an IKE proposal.

Usage Guidelines

The number of bits in the encryption algorithm is the length of the key. A larger key length indicates a more secure algorithm but a slower calculation speed.

The MD5 and SHA-1 algorithms are not recommended because they cannot meet your security defense requirements.
