poe enable port

poe enable port

The poe enable port command enables the PoE function on a port.

The undo poe enable port command disables the PoE function on a port.

By default, the PoE function is enabled on ports.

poe enable port port-num

undo poe enable port port-num

Parameter Description Value
port-num Specifies the port number of a PoE midspan. The value is an integer that ranges from 0 to 7.

Usage Guidelines

Before using a port to provide power for the connected PD, ensure that the port has the PoE function enabled. To enable the PoE function on a port, run the poe enable command.

In automatic power supply mode, whether the PD connected to a port is powered on or off depends on the power of the PoE power supply and power supply priority of the port. If the PoE power supply can provide sufficient power, the PoE midspan does not power off the PD. To power off the PD, you can run the undo poe enable port command to disable the PoE function on the port to which the PD is connected. Subsequently, the PoE midspan does not provide power to the PD.

# Disable the PoE function on port 0.
[Huawei] undo poe enable port 0
Warning: This operation will power off PD of this port.Continue?[Y/N]: y
