Message

PIM/4/BACKUPJP_NORP:In VPN instance "[vpn-instance-name]", when trying to send a (*, [group-address]) Join message, PIM cannot obtain the RP. (FlCode=[STRING][ULONG])

Description

The PIM failed to obtain the RP when trying to send a Join message (*,G).

Parameters

Parameter Name Parameter Meaning
[vpn-instance-name] Indicates the name of a VPN instance.
[group-address] Indicates the group address.
FlCode Indicates the name of the source code file and the line number of this log message.

Possible Causes

The RP is not backed up to the slave board, causing the PIM unable to find the RP after the GR process.

Procedure

  1. Run the display pim [ vpn-instance vpn-instance-name | all-instance ] rp-info command to check whether the RP exists.
  2. Run the static-rp or c-rp command in the PIM view to configure the RP.
