Requirement Analysis

Requirement Analysis

This section introduces how a TV station uses InfoScanner to meet security requirements of daily file data in the collaborative office and archiving scenarios and describes the requirement analysis and conclusions.

Requirement Source

The TV station stores daily files to OceanStor 9000 for management. The client often stores the frequently-operated service data to the Business directory and the archive server stores the less frequently-operated data to the Storage directory. The user requires that the security protection capability of the overall system be increased by improving antivirus management over storage data. Specific requirements include the following:
  • Storage data on the OceanStor 9000 can be scanned for viruses.
  • Scan policies can be flexibly set to avoid affecting service performance.
Figure 8-7 shows the network diagram.

Requirement Analysis and Conclusions

An antivirus solution can meet the preceding requirements. Before scanning the shared directories of OceanStor 9000 for viruses, consider the following factors as shown in Table 8-6:
Table 8-6  Considerations for implementing an antivirus solution

Consideration

Description

Virus risk of the data source

Consider whether the source of the storage data on the OceanStor 9000 is susceptible to viruses.

Data access latency

Consider whether the system performance allows for the short latency caused by virus scanning.

The detailed analysis is as follows:
  • Virus risk of data source

The TV station often collects and edits data from the external netowrk and stores it to the OceanStor 9000. Data from the external network is susceptible to viruses. It is a best practice to configure InfoScanner. Data from the internal network is insusceptible to viruses. You do not need to configure InfoScanner.

  • Data access latency

File access latency may occur during virus scanning. In the scenario that has strict requirements on latency, do not configure InfoScanner or do not scan viruses during peak hours.

The conclusions are as follows:
  • Configure InfoScanner, because the data stored by the TV station to OceanStor 9000 is susceptible to viruses from the external network.
  • Develop reasonable virus scanning policies for directories Business and Storage.
