Configuration Operations

Configuration Operations

This section describes how to configure InfoEqualizer for the storage solution of the program production center.

Prerequisites

  • The storage system network has been established and the network communication is normal.
  • Basic service configuration such as initial system configuration has been completed.
  • Networking and configuration have been planned. In this example, see Table 2-12 and Table 2-13.

Context

Figure 2-16 shows the configuration process for InfoEqualizer.

Procedure

  1. Configure basic information about InfoEqualizer.
    1. Choose Settings > Cluster Settings > InfoEqualizer > Basic Information.
    2. Select Enable. Set Dynamic Domain Name and Static Domain Name to example.com and instance.com as planned, and click Save.

      NOTE:
After this function is enabled, an alarm may be generated indicating that idle dynamic IP addresses are insufficient. If you need to configure dynamic IP addresses, alarms will be automatically cleared after dynamic IP addresses are configured. If you do not need to configure dynamic IP addresses (for example, only the CIFS protocol is used), you can ignore the alarm or log in to DeviceManager, choose Alarms > Current Alarms, select the alarm, and click Clear.

  2. Configure the dynamic IP address.
    1. Choose Settings > Cluster Settings > InfoEqualizer > Subnet Management.
    2. Select the default subnet. Under IP Address Pool, click Add. Fill in the planned dynamic service IP address and click Save, as shown in Figure 2-17.

      NOTE:
      • Dynamic and static front-end IP addresses on one node must be in the same network segment.
      • If the actual project does not have a variety of businesses, it is not necessary to configure multiple zones and migrate nodes. Skip 3 and 4.

  3. Configure zone parameters.
    1. Choose Settings > Cluster Settings > InfoEqualizer > Zone Management.
    2. Select the root zone and click Properties. In the Zone Properties dialog box that is displayed, change the balancing policy of the root zone to Comprehensive node load and click OK.
    3. Click Create. In the Create Zone dialog box that is displayed, enter the planned information and click OK.
  4. Migrate nodes. In the zone list, select the newly created zone and click Add. In the Add Node dialog box that is displayed, migrate the four nodes from the default root zone to zone1, as shown in Figure 2-18.

  5. Optional: Configure a forwarder for the DNS server.

Notify the maintenance engineer responsible for the external DNS server of configuring Dynamic Domain Name, Static Domain Name, and InfoEqualizer DNS IP Address that are specified in 1.b. For details, see Connecting to the External DNS Server.
