This section describes the restrictions on the InfoEqualizer feature.

Impact on the System

This feature has no impact on the system.

Application Restrictions

  • Each subnet must belong to different network segments.
  • One zone only belongs to one subnet.
  • A zone contains at least two nodes for node failover.
  • One node only belongs to one zone. Namely, one node only belongs to one subnet and can only be accessed by clients in the subnet.
  • The DNS service IP addresses of subnets cannot be the same as the InfoEqualizer DSN IP address.
  • The DNS resolution service of the OceanStor 9000 only responds to domain name resolution requests in the OceanStor 9000. This service never responds to external domain name resolution requests.

Interactions with Other Features

The InfoEqualizer feature must be configured before clients use domain names to access nodes in the NFS, CIFS, and FTP file sharing services.
