This section describes the working principles of eSight.

    A device discovery protocol supported by eSight.

  • Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP)

    A set of network management standards. SNMP can be used in a network management system to monitor network-attached devices for conditions that warrant administrative attention. SNMP is a part of the Internet protocol family defined by Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).

eSight Principle

By default, eSight does not display eSight resources. The resources can only be loaded after you set a management IP address, user name, and password for the device to discover resources. You can use eSight to check details, alarms, and nodes of the file system and learn about device health status.

eSight uses the TLV protocol to discover devices and invokes SNMP interfaces to query the cluster information, node information, running status, and alarms of eSight.
