Clearing Traffic Statistics on an Interface

Clearing Traffic Statistics on an Interface

Run the reset interface counters [ interface-type [ interface-number [.subinterface-number ] ] ] command in the user view to clear traffic statistics on a specified interface.

# Clear traffic statistics on all interfaces.
<HUAWEI> reset interface counters
# Clear traffic statistics on 10GE1/0/1.
<HUAWEI> reset interface counters 10ge 1/0/1
# Clear traffic statistics on VLANIF10.
<HUAWEI> reset interface counters vlanif 10
  • If the interface type is not specified, traffic statistics on all types of interfaces are cleared. If the interface type is specified but the interface number is not specified, traffic statistics on all interfaces of the specified type are cleared.

  • The reset interface counters command clears counters of packets received and sent on the interface, which are displayed in the last part of the display interface command output. Traffic statistics cannot be restored after being cleared. Exercise caution when deciding to clear them.
