Recovering the Telnet Login Password

There is no default password for Telnet login. You need to configure a Telnet login password.

If you forget the Telnet login password, log in to the switch through the console port and set a new password for Telnet login.

# Take password authentication for VTY0 login as an example. Set the password to Huawei@123. The configuration is as follows:
<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] user-interface vty 0
[~HUAWEI-ui-vty0] authentication-mode password
[*HUAWEI-ui-vty0] set authentication password
Please configure the login password (8-16)
Enter Password:   //Enter the password Huawei@123.
Confirm Password:   //Enter the password Huawei@123 again.
[*HUAWEI-ui-vty0] user privilege level 15
[*HUAWEI-ui-vty0] commit
[~HUAWEI-ui-vty0] return
