Configuring an SVF System

Configuring an SVF System

The following describes the basic configuration process, which is for your reference only. For the detailed configuration process and precautions, see the configuration guide in the product documentation.

In a super virtual fabric (SVF) system, both the parent and leaf switches can be CE8800&7800&6800&5800 series switches.

Configuring an SVF System of Fixed Switches

  1. (Optional) Set up a stack between parent switches. For details, see Configuring a Stack.

  2. Configure the domain ID for a parent switch. If a stack has been set up between parent switches, skip this step because the domain ID has been set during the stack configuration.

    <HUAWEI> system-view
    [~HUAWEI] stack
    [~HUAWEI-stack] stack member 1 domain 10
    [*HUAWEI-stack] commit
    [~HUAWEI-stack] return
    <HUAWEI> save
  3. Configure a fabric port on the parent switch.

    <HUAWEI> system-view
    [~HUAWEI] interface fabric-port 1
    [*HUAWEI-Fabric-Port1] port bind member 101
    [*HUAWEI-Fabric-Port1] port member-group interface 10ge 1/0/1 to 1/0/2
    [*HUAWEI-Fabric-Port1] quit
    [*HUAWEI] commit
  4. (Optional) Configure the working mode and uplink port type of a leaf switch.

    <HUAWEI> system-view
    [~HUAWEI] stack
[~HUAWEI-stack] switch mode leaf member 1 //Configure the working mode.
    [~HUAWEI-stack] leaf uplink-port type 4*10ge member 1 //Configure the uplink port type.

After the working mode or uplink port type is configured, restart the switch.

  5. Connect parent and leaf switches.
