How Do I Perform Configurations to Prohibit User Login?

You can use either of the following methods to prohibit user login:

  • Method 1

    1. Run the system-view command to enter the system view.

    2. Run the acl acl-number command to create an ACL and enter the ACL view.

      acl-number indicates an ACL number that ranges from 2000 to 2999.

    3. Run the rule permit source source-address 0 command to configure ACL rules to prohibit terminals except the terminal specified by source-address from accessing the local switch.

    4. Run the quit command to exit from the ACL view.

    5. Run the telnet [ ipv6 ] server acl acl-number command to configure an ACL to control access of terminals to the local switch through Telnet.

      Run the ssh [ ipv6 ] server acl acl-number command to configure an ACL to control access of terminals to the local switch through SSH.

    6. Run the commit command to submit the configuration.

  • Method 2

    1. Run the system-view command to enter the system view.

    2. Run the acl acl-number command to create an ACL and enter the ACL view.

      acl-number indicates an ACL number that ranges from 2000 to 2999.

    3. Run the rule permit source source-address 0 command to configure ACL rules to prohibit terminals except the terminal specified by source-address from accessing the local switch.

    4. Run the quit command to exit from the ACL view.

    5. Run the user-interface vty first-ui-number [ last-ui-number ] command to enter the VTY user interface view.

    6. Run the acl [ ipv6 ] acl-number inbound command to configure ACL-based access control for the VTY user interface.

    7. Run the commit command to submit the configuration.
