Modifying Reserved VLANs

Modifying Reserved VLANs

Reserved VLANs are used as control plane channels of a switch and bearer channels for user service data of some features. By default, the reserved VLAN ID ranges from 4064 to 4094.

Run the vlan reserved vlan-id command in the system view to adjust the reserved VLAN ID range. When vlan-id is set, VLANs from vlan-id to vlan-id plus 30 are configured as reserved VLANs.

# set the reserved VLAN ID range to 1000-1030.

<HUAWEI> system-view
[~HUAWEI] vlan reserved 1000
[*HUAWEI] commit //After the configuration is committed, restart the device to make the configuration take effect.
  • The CE12800E that has the ED-E/EG-E/EGA-E series cards installed and CE6880EI do not support the reserved VLAN, and have no reserved VLAN by default.

  • VLANs in use cannot be configured as reserved VLANs.

  • Reserved VLANs can only be changed and cannot be deleted.

  • If a reserved VLAN ID conflicts with a common VLAN ID, do not configure a common VLAN with the ID in the reserved VLAN ID range.

  • The reserved VLANs take effect only after the device restarts, and the original reserved VLANs are used as common VLANs.
