Enabling the Telnet Server Function

Enabling the Telnet Server Function

The common cause of the login failure to the Telnet server is that the Telnet server function is disabled. By default, the Telnet server is disabled when the device starts with no configuration. When the device starts with a loaded configuration file (for example, a configuration file is loaded to the device using ZTP for initial configuration) and the configuration file contains the telnet server disable command, the Telnet server is disabled; otherwise, the Telnet server is enabled.

Run the undo telnet [ ipv6 ] server disable command in the system view to enable the Telnet server function.
