Viewing the Accessible Path of a Remote LUN

This operation enables you to view the accessible path information of a remote LUN.

Procedure

  1. Log in to DeviceManager.
  2. Choose Data Protection > Remote Device.
  3. Choose a heterogeneous remote device whose accessible path information of the remote LUN you want to view. In the Details area of the lower function pane, click Remote LUN tab.
  4. Choose a remote LUN whose accessible path information you want to view, and click Properties.

    The Properties of Remote LUN dialog box is displayed.

  5. Viewing the accessible path information of a remote LUN.
    1. Click Accessible path tab.
    2. View the accessible FC link path and iSCSI link path of the remote LUN.

      Table 7-8 and Table 7-9 describe the related parameters.

      Priority Control

      The priority of Fibre Channel link paths that can be accessed by a remote LUN can be Active, Standby,Registration failed, or Unavailable.

      • Registration failed: Status of the path between the local storage system and the heterogeneous storage system.
      • Active: The local storage system transfers data to the heterogeneous storage system over this path preferentially.
      • Standby: After the active path between the local and heterogeneous storage systems is interrupted, the storage systems trigger path switchover. Then data is transferred over this path.
      • Unavailable: The link between the local and heterogeneous storage systems is invalid. The path is unavailable.
      NOTE:

      The path between the local storage system and heterogeneous storage system failed to be registered. You have no permission to read or write external LUNs on the heterogeneous storage system.
