How Can I Divide Zones on FC Switches?

In a zone, a specific switch and any other device can communicate with each other. FC switches are cascaded across data centers. To enable interworking between controllers of storage arrays in the active-active data centers and application hosts, zones are created. In addition, zones help form redundant links, thereby ensuring ongoing services in the event of single points of failure.

Figure 4-1 shows the devices and their IDs involved in zone division of the FC switches.

On two FC switches that are cascaded, the ports of each link form a zone.
