Disabling SmartCompression

Disabling SmartCompression

Running SmartCompression affects data performance slightly. If high data performance is required, disable SmartCompression.

Procedure

  1. Go to the LUN Properties dialog box.
    1. On the right navigation bar, click Provisioning.
    2. In the Block Storage Service area, click LUN.
    3. In the left function pane, click the LUN tab.
    4. In the information pane, select a LUN that has SmartCompression enabled.
    5. Click Properties.

      The LUN Properties dialog box is displayed.

  2. Disable SmartCompression.
    1. Click the More tab, and select SmartDedupe&SmartCompression.
    2. Deselect Enable data compression.
  3. Verify that SmartCompression is disabled.
    1. Click OK.

      The Execution Result dialog box is displayed.

    2. Click Close.
