This document describes the appearance, specifications, parameters, and structure of the KunLun 9016, and how to install an OS, replace parts, and install, remove, configure, and troubleshoot the server.

Figure 5-1 shows the initial configuration process of the 9016 server.

Check server status.

Check the indicators on the server and the server status on the central management console (CMC) WebUI.

Change initial passwords.

  • Change the initial password of the default CMC user root.
  • Change the initial password for the CMC U-Boot.

Configure CMC IP addresses.

Configure the following data:

  • Static IP addresses for the active and standby CMCs
  • Floating IP address
  • Default gateway

Configure physical partitions.

A 9016 server can be divided into multiple physical partitions, with each partition running its own operating system (OS). The number of processors per partition can be 4, 8, or 16 (default setting).

Configure physical partitions based on site requirements.

The KunLun server is configured as all 4P physical partitions by default.

Log in to physical partitions through the remote virtual console.

Log in to each physical partition of the 9016 server through the remote virtual console of the CMC WebUI.

Configure the BIOS.

Configure the following BIOS parameters for each physical partition:

  • Boot priority
  • BIOS password

Configure RAID.

Create RAID arrays for each physical partition based on site requirements.


The 9016 server supports only LSISAS3108 controller cards.

(Optional) Configure logical partitions.

The 9016 supports logical partitions.

You can choose whether to enable the logical partitioning function. You can configure logical partitions on the CMC WebUI.

Install the OSs.

Install an OS for each physical partition.
