Configuring CMC IP Addresses

Scenarios

On the central management console (CMC) WebUI, configure the following CMC IP addresses:

  • Static IP addresses for the active and standby CMCs
  • Floating IP address
  • Default gateway

Prerequisites

Conditions

The 9016 server is Standby.

Data

  • User name and password for logging in to the CMC WebUI
    • Default user name: root
    • Default password: Huawei12#$
  • Default static IP address for CMC 1: 192.168.2.1
  • Default static IP address for CMC 2: 192.168.2.2
  • Default floating IP address: 192.168.2.3
  • Default gateway: 0.0.0.0
  • Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
  • CMC IP addresses planned according to site requirements

Procedure

  1. Log in to the CMC WebUI.

    For details, see Logging In to the CMC WebUI.

  2. Choose System Management on the menu bar, and choose System Configuration > Network Management in the navigation tree.

    The Network Management page is displayed, as shown in Figure 5-3.

    Table 5-6 describes the parameters on this page.

    Parameter

    Description

    Active IP (CMCN): provides information about the management network port of the active CMC. The value of N is 1 or 2, indicating the slot number that corresponds to the active IP address.

    DHCP

    Specifies the DHCP function status.

    • Enable: The IP address is automatically allocated.
    • Disable: The IP address must be manually configured.

    IP Address

    Indicates the IP address of the management network port.

    Subnet Mask

    Indicates the subnet mask of the IP address of the management network port.

    Valid Gateway

    Indicates the actual gateway of the CMC. If DHCP is enabled, the valid gateway may be different from the configured gateway.

    Standby IP (CMCN): provides information about the management network port of the standby CMC. The value of N is 1 or 2, indicating the slot number that corresponds to the standby IP address.

    DHCP

    Specifies the DHCP function status.

    • Enable: The IP address is automatically allocated.
    • Disable: The IP address must be manually configured.

    IP Address

    Indicates the IP address of the management network port.

    Subnet Mask

    Indicates the subnet mask of the IP address of the management network port.

    Valid Gateway

    Indicates the actual gateway of the CMC. If DHCP is enabled, the valid gateway can be different from the configured gateway.

    Floating IP Address: provides information about the floating IP address of the management network port of the CMC.

    IP Address

    Indicates the floating IP address of the management network port.

    Subnet Mask

    Indicates the subnet mask of the floating IP address of the management network port.

    Configured Gateway

    Configured Gateway

    Indicates the configured gateway of the management network port.

  3. Click Edit.
  4. In the displayed dialog box, modify the CMC IP addresses according to site requirements.

  5. Click OK.
