Unpacking an SCE

Preparations
  • Precautions

Do not unpack the system compute enclosure (SCE) before moving it to the equipment room.

  • Preparations for unpacking

Check that the package is in good condition.

NOTE:

If the package is damaged (for example, the package is soaked or deformed, or the seals or pressure-sensitive adhesive tape is unsealed), fill in the Cargo Problem Feedback Form.

    • Protective gloves
    • ESD gloves
    • ESD wrist strap
    • Box cutter
Procedure
  1. Open the SCE package.

Be careful when using a box cutter, to avoid personal injury or damage to components inside.

  2. Unpack the SCE.

After unpacking the SCE, check the SCE components against Figure 3-77 and Table 3-8, and ensure that the components are in good condition, without defects such as oxidation, chemical corrosion, missing components, or other damage incurred during transport.
