Removing a Supercapacitor (Switch Module)
Scenarios
Remove a supercapacitor from a switch module in any of the following scenarios:
- A supercapacitor in the switch module has failed.
- A supercapacitor is low.

Tools
- ESD gloves
- Packaging materials, for example, an ESD bag
- Phillips screwdriver
Procedure
- Power off the SCE where the supercapacitor to be removed is located. For details, see Powering Off the 9016.
- Remove the switch module. For details, see Removing a Switch Module.
- Press the button on the switch module cover. See step (1) in Figure 6-139.
- Remove the cover. See steps (2) and (3) in Figure 6-139.
- Remove the air duct from the switch module. For details, see Removing an Air Duct.
- Loosen the screws on the supercapacitor, and remove the supercapacitor. See steps (1) and (2) in Figure 6-140.
- Place the removed supercapacitor in an ESD bag.
