Removing an LPM

Removing an LPM


Remove a local partition management module (LPM) if it has failed.



No special conditions are required for this operation.


No data preparation is required for this operation.


  • ESD gloves
  • Packaging materials, for example, an ESD bag


  1. Power off the physical partition where the LPM is located. For details, see Powering Off the 9016.
  2. Remove all cables from the LPM.
  3. Press the ejector release buttons on the LPM. The ejector levers eject automatically. See step (1) in Figure 6-43.
  4. Fully open the LPM ejector levers. See step (2) in Figure 6-43.
  5. Gently remove the LPM by holding its ejector levers. See step (3) in Figure 6-43.
  6. Place the removed LPM in an ESD bag.
