Removing a Non-Hot-Swappable PCIe Card


Remove a non-hot-swappable PCIe card from a BIO if the PCIe card has failed.



No special condition is required for this operation.


No data preparation is required for this operation.


  • ESD gloves
  • Packaging materials, for example, an ESD bag


  1. Power off the physical partition where the non-hot-swappable PCIe card to be removed is located. For details, see Powering Off the 9016.
  2. Remove the half-height BIO where the non-hot-swappable PCIe card is to be installed. For details, see Removing a Half-Height BIO (BIO-C or BIO-D).
  3. Open the BIO cover on the right. See step (1) in Figure 6-148.
  4. Gently remove the non-hot-swappable PCIe card. See step (3) in Figure 6-148.
  5. Place the removed PCIe card in an ESD bag.
