Removing an LOM

Scenarios

Remove a LAN on motherboard (LOM) in any of the following scenarios:

  • The LOM has failed.
  • The LOM needs to be replaced with a new model.

Prerequisites

Conditions

No special conditions are required for this operation.

Data

No data preparation is required for this operation.

Tools

  • ESD gloves
  • Packaging materials, for example, an ESD bag

Procedure

  1. Turn off the switches on the PDUs corresponding to the system compute enclosure (SCE) where the LOM is removed.
  2. Hold down the blue button on the LOM. See step (1) in Figure 6-107.
  3. Remove the LOM. See step (2) in Figure 6-107.
  4. Place the removed LOM in an ESD bag.
