Removing the CME

Removing the CME


Remove the central management enclosure (CME) if the CME or a component inside the CME has failed.



No special conditions are required for this operation.


No data preparation is required for this operation.


  • ESD gloves
  • Packaging materials, for example, an ESD bag
  • Phillips screwdriver


  1. Turn off the switches on the PDUs corresponding to the central management enclosure (CME).
  2. Remove all cables from the CME.
  3. Remove all modules from the CME.

  4. Open the protective covers on the corners at the front of the CME, and loosen the screws that secure the CME. See step (1) in Figure 6-1.
  5. Gently remove the CME. See step (2) in Figure 6-1.
  6. Place the removed CME in an ESD bag.
