Removing a CIM


Remove a central interface module (CIM) if it has failed.



No special conditions are required for this operation.


No data preparation is required for this operation.


  • ESD gloves
  • Packaging materials, for example, an ESD bag


  1. Remove the cable that connects to an external LCD.
  2. Press the ejector release buttons on the CIM. The ejector levers eject automatically. See step (1) in Figure 6-27.
  3. Fully open the CIM ejector levers. See step (2) in Figure 6-27.
  4. Gently remove the CIM by holding its ejector levers. See step (3) in Figure 6-27.
  5. Place the removed CIM in an ESD bag.
