Capacity Expansion in Different Cabinet Configurations

Capacity Expansion in Different Cabinet Configurations

Capacity expansion in a single cabinet means that all the new nodes are installed in the original cabinet and no new cabinet is required. In such a capacity expansion scenario, cabinet door installation is not required, and only the installation and removal of guide rails, power distribution enclosure (PDEs), and power distribution units (PDUs) are involved. Therefore, the capacity expansion in a single cabinet supports both a Huawei cabinet and a non-Huawei cabinet.

Capacity expansion in combined cabinets can be implemented in a scenario where many devices need to be added and the original cabinet cannot house all of them. In such a capacity expansion scenario, you need to add a new cabinet. To ensure that the side doors of the original cabinet are removable for cabling, the original cabinet must be a Huawei cabinet. In principle, capacity expansion in combined cabinets cannot be implemented when the original cabinet is a third-party cabinet.
