Precautions for Connecting Cables

Precautions for Connecting Cables

Before connecting cables to the server, ensure that the power distribution frame (PDF) in the equipment room and the power distribution units (PDUs) in the cabinet are switched off.

Two delivery modes are selectable for the 9016:

  • Preassembled shipment

Power and signal cables have been installed in the cabinet before shipment. During onsite installation, you only need to push the cabinet to a specified location in an equipment room.

  • Disassembled shipment

Install cables in the cabinet onsite according to the cable labels.

The server may use the following types of cables:

  • Ground cable
  • Cables to a mouse, keyboard, and video graphics array (VGA) port
  • Network cable
  • Serial cable
  • Power cables

Table 3-11 describes the precautions for connecting cables.
