Installing a RAID Controller Card (FIO-A)
Scenarios
Install a RAID controller card in any of the following scenarios:
- A RAID controller card has failed.
- A RAID controller card needs to be replaced with a new model.

- Packaging materials, for example, an ESD bag
- Phillips screwdriver
Hardware
Spare RAID controller card
Procedure
- Power off the physical partition where a RAID controller card is to be installed. For details, see Powering Off the 9016.
- Remove the FIO where the RAID controller card is to be installed. For details, see Removing an FIO (FIO-A).
- Take the spare RAID controller card out of its ESD bag.
- Align the connector on the RAID controller card with the port on the mainboard, and gently insert the RAID controller card into the connector on the mainboard. See step (1) in Figure 6-85.
- Tighten the screws to secure the RAID controller card. See step (2) in Figure 6-85.
- Place the cover onto the FIO. See step (1) in Figure 6-86.
- Gently push the cover until it snaps into place. See step (2) in Figure 6-86.
