Connecting an External AC Power Cable of a Cabinet

Connecting an External AC Power Cable of a Cabinet

Preparations

  • Precautions
    • Power cables must be securely connected.
    • Use dedicated power cables to ensure equipment and personal safety.
    • Power cables are used only for KunLun servers. Do not use them for other devices.
  • Preparations for installation

The 9016 connects the power distribution frame (PDF) or power socket in the equipment room and the power distribution units (PDUs) in the cabinet by using industrial plugs. The rated voltage of a single-phase AC PDU is 220 V AC, and its maximum input current is 32 A.

  • Tools

ESD wrist strap or ESD gloves

Procedure

  1. (Optional) If there is no industrial female connector in the equipment room, use a female connector shipped with the cabinet. Make a power cable for the female connector (see Figure 3-109), and bundle any extra length of the cable to the top or bottom of the cabinet.

  2. Locate the female connector to which the power cable is to be connected.
  3. Connect the cable between the female connector and the male connector. See Figure 3-110.

    NOTE:

The server supports dual power supplies for redundancy. If you are using a single-phase power supply, the label INPUT 1 and INPUT 2 on the industrial plug indicates one input and the label INPUT 3 and INPUT 4 indicates the other input.

  4. Repeat the preceding steps to connect other power cables.
