Installing a Non-Hot-Swappable PCIe Card

Install a non-hot-swappable PCIe card on a BIO to replace the faulty PCIe card.

  • ESD gloves
  • Packaging materials, for example, an ESD bag

Hardware

Spare non-hot-swappable PCIe card

Procedure

  1. Power off the physical partition where a non-hot-swappable PCIe card is to be installed. For details, see Powering Off the 9016.
  2. Remove the half-height BIO where the non-hot-swappable PCIe card is to be installed. For details, see Removing a Half-Height BIO (BIO-C or BIO-D).
  3. Open the BIO cover on the right. See step (1) in Figure 6-149.

  4. Take the spare non-hot-swappable PCIe card out of its ESD bag.
  5. Insert the non-hot-swappable PCIe card into the half-height BIO as far as it will go. See step (1) in Figure 6-150.
  6. Close the BIO cover. See step (2) in Figure 6-150.
