Removing an FIO-G (Supporting REEs)


Remove an FIO-G if it has failed.



No special condition is required for this operation.


No data preparation is required for this operation.


  • ESD gloves
  • Packaging materials, for example, an ESD bag


  1. Power off the physical partition where the FIO-G to be removed is located. For details, see Powering Off the 9016.
  2. Remove the front bezel. For details, see Removing a Front Bezel.
  3. Remove the FPC. For details, see Removing an FPC.
  4. Fully open the FIO-G ejector levers. See step (1) in Figure 6-37.
  5. Gently remove the FIO-G by holding its ejector levers. See step (2) in Figure 6-37.
  6. Place the removed FIO-G in an ESD bag.
