Installing a CME

Installing a CME


Install a central management enclosure (CME) to replace the faulty one or after a component in the CME is replaced.



No special conditions are required for this operation.


No data preparation is required for this operation.


  • ESD gloves
  • Phillips screwdriver


Spare CME


  1. Turn off the switches on the PDUs corresponding to the central management enclosure (CME).
  2. Take the spare CME out of its ESD bag.
  3. Slide the CME into the cabinet as far as it will go. See step (1) in Figure 6-2.
  4. Open the protective covers on the corners at the front of the CME, and tighten the screws to secure the CME. See step (2) in Figure 6-2.

  5. Install all modules in the CME.

  6. Connect all cables to the CME.
