Logging In to Physical Partitions

Scenarios

Log in to each physical partition of the 9016 server through the Remote Virtual Console of the central management console (CMC) WebUI.

Procedure

  1. On the CMC WebUI, choose Partition Management on the menu bar, choose KPAR in the navigation tree, and click Remote Virtual Console.

    The Remote Virtual Console screen is displayed, as shown in Figure 5-8.

  2. Click the physical partition that you want to log in to, see Figure 5-9.

    Two modes are displayed:

    • Private Mode: allows only one user to access and manage the physical partition at a time.
    • Shared Mode: allows two users to access and manage the physical partition simultaneously.

    The shared mode is not recommended because operations performed by one user are visible to the other user.

  3. Select a login mode. See Figure 5-10.
