Impact on the System

The system may stop responding.

Possible Causes

  • The mainboard is faulty.
  • The lower threshold for major alarms is not properly set for the sensor.

Procedure

  1. Remove the power cables to forcibly power off the server, and reinstall the power cables to power it on. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to Step 2.

  2. Run the smmget -l bladeN -t sensorname -d thresholdall command on the CMC CLI, and check whether the lower threshold for major alarms is set properly.

The proper threshold for the sensor is as follows:

    SYS 12V: 10.80 V

  3. Run the smmset -l bladeN -t SYS 12V -d lowercritical -v value command (value indicates the lower threshold for major alarms) on the CMC CLI to change the threshold. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to Step 4.

  4. Replace the mainboard. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

For details about how to replace a mainboard, see the KunLun 90xx V100R001 User Guide.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to Step 5.
