ALM-01000025 Memory Configuration Error

Description

Alarm message:

[Memory board #] xxx memory configuration error. Error code: 0xXXXX.
NOTE:

xxx indicates the DIMM silkscreen, or the CPU or channel number of the DIMM.

This alarm is generated when an incompatible DIMM is installed or when a DIMM is installed in an incorrect slot.

NOTE:

For details about DIMM configuration rules, see "Installing DIMMs" in the KunLun 90XX V100R001 User Guide.

The event type is: Memory

  1. If the mirroring function needs to be enabled or has been enabled in the BIOS, check whether the memory configuration after isolation meets the mirroring conditions. If not, the enabled memory mirroring function does not take effect.
  2. If the Lockstep mode needs to be enabled or has been enabled in the BIOS, check whether the memory configuration after isolation meets the Lockstep conditions. If not, the enabled Lockstep mode does not take effect.

Possible Causes

Procedure

  1. Power off the server and check the model of the DIMM for which the alarm is generated.
  2. Use the Huawei Server Compatibility Checker to check whether the DIMM model is compatible with the server.

  3. Check whether the DIMMs are installed in correct slots.

    For details about DIMM installation positions, see the KunLun 90XX V100R001 User Guide.

  4. Install the DIMMs in correct slots. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to Step 6.

  5. Replace the DIMM with a compatible one and power on the server. Then check whether the alarm is cleared.

    For details about how to replace a DIMM, see the KunLun 90XX V100R001 User Guide.

    • If yes, no further action is required.
    • If no, go to Step 6.

  6. Contact Huawei technical support.
