Setting the BIOS System Time and Boot Device
Procedure
- After the server is powered on, press DEL to go to the BIOS setup screen.
- Set the system time.
- Press ← or → to select the Main menu.
Figure 8-38 shows the Main menu.
- Press ↑ or ↓ to select System Date, press Enter to alternate between the month, day, and year, and set the date.
The system date is in the mm/dd/yyyy format. mm, dd, and yyyy indicate the month, day, and year respectively. You can change the parameter value by using either of the following methods:
- Press + to increase the value by 1 or - to decrease the value by 1.
- Press a number key to change the value directly.
- Press ↑ or ↓ to select System Time, press Enter to alternate between the hour, minute, and second, and set the time.
The system time is in the hh:mm:ss format in the 24-hour system. hh, mm, and ss indicate the hour, minute, and second respectively. You can change the parameter value by using either of the following methods:
- Press + to increase the value by 1 or - to decrease the value by 1.
- Press a number key to change the value directly.
- Press ← or → to select the Main menu.
- Modify the number of CPU cores. Windows Server 2008 R2 supports only 256 cores. Therefore, you need to set the number of cores in IntelRCSetup > Processor Configuration, as shown in Figure 8-39.
- 9008: If the number of cores of a CPU is 16, set the number of cores to 16.
- 9016: If the number of cores of a CPU is 8, set the number of cores to 8.
- Configure RAID based on system prompts. (KunLun servers use the BIOS UEFI mode, and the RAID controller card configuration is consolidated into the server BIOS.)
- Set the boot device priority.
On the Boot menu , set Boot Option #1 as UEFI Hard Disk.
- If the OS to be installed is VMware, set to On VM Support on the menu bar Partition Management > KPAR , as shown in Figure 8-40.
- Save the settings and exit.
- Press F10.
The Save configuration and exit? dialog box is displayed.
- Select Yes and press Enter to save the settings and restart the server.
- Press F10.
