What Do I Do If "starting userspace STP failed" and "ERST support is initialized" Are Displayed After dmesg Commands Are Executed on RHEL 6.7?
Symptom
The message "starting userspace STP failed" is displayed after the dmesg | grep -i fail command is executed on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6.7, and the message "ERST: Error Record Serialization Table (ERST) support is initialized" is displayed after the dmesg | grep -i error command is executed on the operating system (OS). Figure 2-42 shows the messages.
Cause Analysis
The message "starting userspace STP failed" is reported when the kernel attempts to create a user space for the program /sbin/bridge-stp but no package is detected.
The message "ERST: Error Record Serialization Table (ERST) support is initialized" is reported when the Error Record Serialization Table (ERST) is initialized.
