What Do I Do If an OS Failed to Be Installed in the KunLun 9032 32-Socket Physical Partition?
Symptom
If a server is configured with CPUs, each of which contains 18 cores, the OS installation in the KunLun 9032 32-socket physical partition may be failed. A dialog box is displayed indicating installation failure, as shown in Figure 4-36.
Cause Analysis
This problem is caused by too many logical CPU cores in the KunLun 9032.
Solution
You can add the limitation of maxcpus to installation parameters, for example, maxcpus=1008. Currently, the maximum number of supported logical CPU cores is 1008.
- During the installation, on the screen shown in Figure 4-37, select Installation and press e.
- Add maxcpus=1008 nowatchdog nosoftlockup rcupdate.rcu_cpu_stall_suppress=1, as shown in Figure 4-38.
- Press F10 to start the installation.
