OS Installation
Procedure
- Go to the server CMC login screen . On the CMC KVM screen, click
to mount the OS ISO file, and click
to mount the RAID controller card driver.
- Restart the server. On the screen showing the BIOS version and CPU information, press DEL to go to the BIOS setup screen.
- In the Save&Exit screen, select the DVD-ROM, as shown in Figure 8-3.
- After the system boots from the virtual DVD-ROM drive, press any key to go to the initial installation screen, as shown in Figure 8-4.
- Select the time zone and keyboard, and click Next, as shown in Figure 8-5.
- Click Install Now, as shown in Figure 8-6.
- Select Windows Server 2008 R2 Datacenter(Full Installation) and click Next, as shown in Figure 8-7.
- Select I accept the license terms and click Next, as shown in Figure 8-8.
- Click Custom(advanced), as shown in Figure 8-9.
- Ensure that the RAID controller card driver has been loaded to the virtual floppy disk drive (FDD) and click Load Driver, as shown in Figure 8-10.
- Click Browse to select a mounted FDD, as shown in Figure 8-11.
- Select a detected driver file and click Next, as shown in Figure 8-12.
- Select a logical disk on which the OS is to be installed and click Next, as shown in Figure 8-13.
- The OS installation starts. During the installation, the system will restarts several times, do not perform any operations during the installation. See Figure 8-14.
- After the OS installation is complete, the login page shown in Figure 8-15 is displayed. Click OK to change the password.
- Enter the new password, confirm the password, and click the arrow on the right, as shown in Figure 8-16.
- After the installation is complete, click OK to log in to the OS, as shown in Figure 8-17.
