Abnormal VM Startup When SAN BOOT Is Enabled
Symptom
Multiple LUNs are installed with different operating systems. After suse11_sp4_64 is installed on a LUN and the VM attempts to start from the LUN, the VM startup is abnormal, as shown in Figure 4-39.
Cause Analysis
By default, the suse11_sp4_64 installation program installs the GRUB on the first LUN. Therefore, Partitioningand Booting need to be specified during the installation.
Solution
- Click Partitioning, select a LUN on which the system is to be installed, for example, LUN5, and click next.Figure 4-40 Selecting a LUN
- Select Use Entire Hard Disk. You can also manage partition on the LUN as required.Figure 4-41 Preparing Hard Disk
- Click the Boot Loader Installation tab, and click Boot Loader Installation Details.Figure 4-42 Boot Loader Settings
- Retain the LUN on which GRUB is to be installed, delete other LUNs, and click Installto continue with the installation.Figure 4-43 Installation Settings
