Networking Requirements

As shown in Figure 2-265, an LAG in LACP mode is configured on two directly connected switches to improve bandwidth and reliability. The requirements are as follows:

  • Two active links perform load balancing.

  • One link functions as the standby link. When a fault occurs on the active link, the standby link replaces the faulty link to ensure nonstop data transmission.

Configuration Roadmap

Before configuring link aggregation, perform the following configurations:
  1. Configure an Eth-Trunk in LACP mode to implement link aggregation.
  2. Aggregate GE0/0/2, GE0/0/3, and GE0/0/4.
  3. Select links of GE0/0/2 and GE0/0/3 as active links and the link of GE0/0/4 as the standby link.
  4. Configure SwitchA as the Actor and set the system priority to 100.

Procedure

  • Configure SwitchA.
    1. Choose Interface Management > Eth-Trunk > Eth-Trunk Interface to access the Eth-Trunk Interface page.
    2. Click Create to access the Create Eth-Trunk page, as shown in Figure 2-266.

      Set the following parameters.

      • Set Eth-Trunk Name to 10.
      • Set Working Mode to Static LACP.
      • Set Max Active Links to 2.
      • Set LACP Preempt Delay to Enabled.
      • In Select Interface, select GE0/0/2, GE0/0/3, and GE0/0/4.
      • Set LACPPriority of GE0/0/2 and GE0/0/3 to 100 and set the default priority of GE0/0/4.

      Other parameters use default settings.

      NOTE:

      The value ranges of Eth-Trunk Name, Min Active Links, Max Active Links, and Jumbo on different switches are different.

    3. Click OK.
    4. Click System LACP Priority to access the System LACP Priority page, as shown in Figure 2-267.

      Set the following parameter.

      • Set Priority to 100.

    5. Click Apply.
    6. Click in the navigation tree. In the dialog box that is displayed, click OK.
  • Configure SwitchB.
    1. Choose Interface Management > Eth-Trunk > Eth-Trunk Interface to access the Eth-Trunk Interface page.
    2. Click Create to access the Create Eth-Trunk page, as shown in Figure 2-268.

      Set the following parameters.

      • Set Eth-Trunk Name to 10.
      • Set Working Mode to Static LACP.
      • Set LACP Preempt Delay to Enabled.
      • In Select Interface, select GE0/0/2, GE0/0/3, and GE0/0/4.

      Other parameters use default settings.

      NOTE:

    3. Click OK.
    4. Click in the navigation tree. In the dialog box that is displayed, click OK.

Result

  • Check the configuration of SwitchA.

    1. Choose Interface Management > Eth-Trunk > Eth-Trunk Interface to access the Eth-Trunk Interface page, as shown in Figure 2-269.

      Set the following parameters.

      • Enter 10 in Eth-Trunk Name: Eth-Trunk and click Query to display all matching records.

    2. Click Eth-Trunk Name and Member Ports of Eth-Trunk to display member ports, as shown in Figure 2-270.

  • Check the configuration of SwitchB.

    1. Choose Interface Management > Eth-Trunk > Eth-Trunk Interface to access the Eth-Trunk Interface page, as shown in Figure 2-271.

      Set the following parameters.

      • Enter 10 in Eth-Trunk Name: Eth-Trunk and click Query to display all matching records.

    2. Click Eth-Trunk Name and Member Ports of Eth-Trunk to display member ports, as shown in Figure 2-272.
