This section analyzes the storage requirements of a TV station's program production center and provides a storage solution.

Customer Requirements

The TV station uses OceanStor 9000 as the storage system for video editing. The TV station wants to produce programs with more diverse content and higher definition to rival competitors. Specific requirements are as follows:
  • The storage system can support more than 20 layers of HD video editing by a single workstation.
  • The storage system can support more than 4 layers of UHD video editing by a single workstation.


The customer requires a high-performance storage system for media assets. The storage system should have:
  • High-bandwidth storage cluster to support concurrent read/write of videos.
  • Excellent stability to ensure fluency and no frame loss during concurrent video editing.
Using the NFS protocol enhancement feature provided by OceanStor 9000 on clients is the optimal solution. Details of the solution are as follows:
  • Configure two 10GE network ports for every workstation, and one IP address for each network port.
  • Install DFSClient in every workstation and establish multiple links between each workstation and OceanStor 9000.
