Configuring Storage Devices

Configuring Storage Devices

This section explains how to configure the parameters of the alarm connection protocol so that the OceanStor 9000 can report alarms to eSight.

eSight can communicate with the management network of the OceanStor 9000 cluster through a route (eSight and the cluster can ping each other).

If the OceanStor 9000 cluster has C72 nodes, eSight must reside on the same subnet as the management network of the OceanStor 9000 cluster and Layer 2 interconnection is required.

  1. Log in to the CLI. For details, see section Logging In to the CLI in the OceanStor 9000 Command Reference.
  2. Run the add snmp usm command to add SNMP security users.

admin:/>add snmp usm testuser ReadWrite SHA AES
    Please enter your authentication password:**********
Please enter your authentication password again:**********
    Please input your private password:***********
Please input your private password again:***********
    Command executed successfully.

  3. Run change snmp status start to enable the SNMP function.

The SNMP agent service is disabled by default.

  4. Wait about 10 seconds then run show snmp status, check the status of SNMP function. Running status indicate that the status is normal.
  5. Run show snmp usm to view the user.
