This section analyzes the storage requirements of an astronomical observatory's satellite mapping service and provides a storage solution.

Customer Requirements

The satellite mapping service of the astronomical observatory includes the following operations:

  • Satellite signal processing: High-frequency carrier signals are encoded and decoded to obtain desired image data.
  • Satellite image processing: Required processing methods are implemented on image data, including image defogging, logical division of scenes, and 3D imaging.

Based on the preceding operations, the astronomical observatory requires that the a single storage node provide more than 2 GB/s bandwidth to support the processing of super large satellite image files.


The customer needs a storage system with high-speed computing capability to meet service requirements.

  • Configure four 10GE network ports for every workstation, and one IP address for each network port.
  • Install DFSClient on the RHEL client and establish multiple links between the RHEL client and OceanStor 9000 to improve the read/write bandwidth of single nodes.
  • Configure three P25 nodes to meet the requirement for high-performance storage.
