This section analyzes the requirements of a bank that uses InfoRevive features for ATMs and provides a solution.

Requirement Source

A bank has multiple ATM service points in the three districts of city A. A video surveillance system is installed on each point to provide round-the-clock uninterrupted monitoring. The bank has the following requirements of the video surveillance systems:

  • Unified monitoring

    Video surveillance data of different districts is stored separately, but can be monitored in a unified manner in the municipal head office.

  • Centralized management

    The cluster, node, and alarm information as well as cluster configurations of OceanStor 9000 can be centrally managed.

  • Service continuity

    The video surveillance systems must provide round-the-clock uninterrupted services. To ensure service continuity and data availability, it is required that the system can still read/write part of valid data when the number of faulty disks exceeds the upper limit.

  • Data reliability

    To ensure data reliability, video data cannot be modified by the monitoring platform.

Requirement Analysis and Solution

Based on the analysis of the bank's requirements, the following solution is provided:

  • A large volume of video data is generated due to round-the-clock uninterrupted video surveillance services. Deploy an OceanStor 9000 cluster in each district to provide sufficient storage space for the data.
  • Install a UniformView client and the eSight network management system in the municipal head office to realize unified monitoring and centralized management.
  • Enable the InfoRevive feature of each OceanStor 9000 cluster to support fault-tolerance video data reads and writes and ensure service continuity.
  • The shared directories of OceanStor 9000 clusters are mounted to UniformView in a read-only mode. In this way, the UniformView client can read but cannot write the shared directories, meeting customer requirements of data reliability.
