Restrictions

This section describes the impact of the NFS protocol enhancement feature on system performance, restrictions on the feature application, and interaction between the feature and other features.

Impact on the System

DeviceManager regards the number of links as the number of clients. The NFS protocol enhancement feature allows multiple links to be established between an NFS client and OceanStor 9000. When an NFS client has multiple links to the storage system, the client is displayed as multiple NFS clients on DeviceManager.

Application Restrictions

  • When DFSClient mounts NFS shares, connections can be established using Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) only. User Datagram Protocol (UDP) is not supported.
  • DFSClient can use the NFS v3 protocol only to mount an NFS share.
  • The performance of a single client can be maximally optimized only when each network port on the client is assigned one IP address.

Interaction with Other Features

Table 12-6 describes the interaction between the NFS protocol enhancement feature and other features.

InfoEqualizer

In case of node or network port failure, dynamic service IP addresses may float to one node, causing multi-connection failure and performance deterioration.
